Privacy policy
What we collect when you book a call or get in touch, why we need it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
Who we are
Marla Marketing (“we” and “us”) runs this website and is responsible for the details you share with us here. If you have a question about this policy, or about your details, email us at [email protected].
What we collect
When you book a call or ask us to get in touch, we collect:
- your name, brand name, email address and phone number
- your answer to our one question about your brand, such as roughly what you spend on ads each month
- the boxes you tick in our growth check or launch check, if you use one before getting in touch, so we can come to the call prepared
- your brand’s mission, if you choose to share it
- the time you pick for your call, and the time zone you viewed our diary in
- how you found us: the page you arrived on, the site that sent you, and any campaign tags in the link you followed (for example a utm_source tag, or a click ID added by Google or Meta)
We don’t ask for payment details or for anything sensitive.
How we use it
We use your details to arrange and prepare for your call, to reply to you, and to send you a confirmation and, for calls booked well ahead, a reminder. If you fill in the form but don’t choose a time, we may get in touch once to see whether we can help. We use the campaign tags to see which of our ads and pages bring enquiries.
We never sell your details, and we don’t share them for anyone else’s marketing.
Our legal basis
Under UK and EU data protection law (the GDPR), we use your details because:
- you’ve asked us to arrange a call, which is a step before any agreement to work together
- we have a legitimate interest in replying to enquiries and in knowing which of our marketing works
Giving us your details is up to you, but we need your name, email address and phone number to arrange a call.
Who else handles your details
- Google. Our booking system runs on our Google account. Your details are kept in Google Sheets, your call is added to Google Calendar with a Google Meet link, and our emails are sent through Gmail.
- Cloudflare, which hosts this website. Like any web host, it handles technical details such as your IP address to deliver pages and to protect the site from attacks.
Both companies may handle data in the United States and other countries. Google LLC and Cloudflare, Inc. are certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and its UK Extension, which the EU and the UK recognise as giving adequate protection.
How long we keep it
If we don’t end up working together, we delete your enquiry within two years of our last contact. If we do, we keep what we need while we work together and for up to six years afterwards, for our tax and legal records.
Cookies
We don’t use cookies for analytics or advertising. While you browse, the site keeps a few small notes in your browser’s session storage: the campaign tags described above, your currency and the type of brand you’re interested in. They stay on your device, are cleared when you close the tab, and reach us only if you book a call or ask us to get in touch.
If we add analytics or advertising tools in future, we’ll ask for your permission first where the law requires it, and update this page.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your details, ask us to correct or delete them, ask us to limit or stop using them, object to how we use them, or ask for them in a format you can take elsewhere. Email us at [email protected] and we’ll reply within one month.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your details, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, or to the data protection authority where you live.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
